October 10 ~ Record Book Deadline
Record books are due into the UNCE office on October 10.

11 ~ Autumn Antics Play Day Show
This Play Day Show, open to all riders and breeds of horses and mules, serves
as a community service Fund Raiser so the Silver Knolls Spurs 4-H club may
support the American Cancer Society. The show will be held at the Lemmon
Valley Arena and starts at 9:00 a.m. There will be lots of fun games and
gymkhana classes for all ages. Ribbons will be awarded to 1st through
5th place plus a High Point & Reserve High Point award. Classes are $4 each
if entered by October 9th or $5 each if entered on show day. A snack bar will
be provided. Mail your entries to Linda Zimmerman at 12200 Red Rock
Road, Reno, NV 89508, or e-mail ZephyrArabians@RenoNevada.net, or

October 14 ~ Horse Leader's Meeting
All leaders are needed to attend the Leader's Meetings on a monthly basis.
There's a tremendous amount of work to be done to make the 4-H events
successful for everyone. If everyone pitches in, the work load decreases.
Remember...Teamwork divides the task and doubles the success!!

October 18 ~ Endurance Ride
The Silver Knolls Spurs 4-H Club will be hosting their 20th Annual Endurance
ride on Saturday, October 18th. The 10 or 20 mile ride, open to all riders and
breeds, will begin at the Lemmon Valley Arena. The Mandatory Veterinary
check is at 8:30 and the 20 mile ride will begin at 9:30 and the 10 mile ride
will begin at 10:00. Ride categories are: 5-10 years old, 11-13 years old, 14-17
years old and 18 years and older. Awards will be given for Completion,
Best Time, and Best Condition in each ride category. Entry fee ranges from
$10-$25 per rider, with a discount given to 4-H'ers. Lunch will be served at 1:
00 and the award presentation will be at 2:00. Please e-mail entries to
