County Project Medals
county Project Medals are awarded to 4-H members who have completed a 4-H record book and
have participated in at least one county-wide event in their project area as well as demonstrating
growth and quality in the project.

Special Recognition County Medals
In addition to project medals, select 4-H members are recognized for
exemplary accomplishments in the areas of:
Citizenship
Leadership
Achievement

Nevada Star Rank Program
4-H members accumulate points for work completed each year.  Points lead to earning white, red,
blue, gold and all-star pins in the Nevada Star Rank Program.  4-H'ers should begin filling out the
Star Rank From the first day of their 4-H experience.  All members who complete the requirements
for a particular star and fill out and turn in the required forms will be awarded that star. As
members participate in more activities, they advance through the five ranks in the 4-H Star Rank
Program.
In addition to earning ribbons and awards at various horse
shows and competitions, members have the opportunity to
earn awards for completing various tasks throughout the year.

There are two End-of-Year Celebrations held at the
close of the 4-H year.  One is specifically for horse members and
the other is for all of Washoe County 4-H clubs.  The ceremonies
are usually held in December or January.

Ask your leader how you can earn these awards!

Below is a list of categories awards are given out for:
Gear for you:
Personalized Sweat shirts or jackets, belt buckles,
pins to show off your accomplishments,
and CASH!

Supplies for your horse:
Monogrammed bridle bags, halter & lead rope, leg wraps,
grooming kits with grooming tools, mane sleazy, lunge lines, etc...

And, most importantly,
the self satisfaction of a job well done!
