Active in Washoe County since 1989, the Silver Knolls Spurs
4-H Club concentrates on the development of horsemen through
educational meetings, attendance at clinics and judgings,
participating in riding lessons and field trips.

Community service is a priority in this club which includes
children from the ages of 5 through 19, pre-school to college
sophomores.  Two horse shows, an endurance ride and a large
horse tack sale are hosted annually by the Silver Knolls Spurs
4-H club youth and parents.  Many thousands of dollars have
been given back to the community from these fund raisers,
some of the events going on for 19 years.

Dates for 2008 community activities include:

February - Tack Sale

April
19 - Diamonds in the Rough Horse Show
for novice riders and novice and green horses

October  - Autumn Antics Horse Show/Play Day
games on horseback for all riders

October  - 10 Mile and 20 Mile Endurance Rides

The Silver Knolls Spurs generally meet for business meetings
monthly at the Joe Mitchell Community Center in Lemmon
Valley on the first Monday of each month.  Meetings, starting
at 7 p.m., include demonstrations and project talks where
members share their knowledge, an educational program,
calendar updates, business decisions and refreshments.
